Digital Terrestrial Systems

Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT) is now the standard broadcast system for the whole of the United Kingdom.

This change over from the previous analogue standard of transmission has taken 5 years to achieve and positions the UK as a world leader in the transmission of terrestrial TV.

Major advantages of DTT are the large number of channels that can be transmittedĀ as compared to analogue (maximum of 5), quality of picture and sound and the ability to transmit High Definition channels. Further benefits to come in the future will include the release of 3D television transmissions.
